What We Do

Covenant Community Care’s Mobile Dental Program delivers high-quality, preventative dental care directly to schools and community sites across Metro Detroit. Our fully equipped mobile dental team includes board-certified dentists, licensed dental hygienists, and experienced dental assistants who work together to remove barriers to oral health care for children and adults.

Each year, our mobile dental services reach thousands of students and individuals experiencing homelessness, providing essential dental care where it’s needed most.

Mobile dental services include:

• Comprehensive dental exams
• Digital X-rays
• Professional cleanings
• Fluoride treatments
• Dental sealants
• Oral hygiene instruction and education
• Preventative care for children and adults
• Select restorative services at approved sites, including fillings and extractions

Our team brings all dental equipment and supplies to each site. All that’s required is an indoor space with access to water and electricity. We handle the rest.

Who We Serve

Covenant’s Mobile Dental Team partners with schools and community organizations to expand access to care for underserved populations.

We currently provide mobile dental care to:

• 90 Head Start locations
• 18 Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) schools
• 3 non-DPSCD schools
• Mobile Dental also attends school fairs, community health fairs, and low income housing locations

When not serving schools, our mobile dental team continues its work at community sites, ensuring consistent dental access for vulnerable populations throughout the year.

Cost for Services

There is no out-of-pocket cost for mobile dental services.

• Dental insurance, including Medicaid, is billed directly when available
• Services are provided free of charge for patients without dental coverage
• Please note that duplicate services at other dental offices may affect insurance benefits

Our goal is simple: no one is turned away due to cost.

Oral health and education are deeply connected. Each year, children miss 51 million hours of school due to dental issues, most of which are preventable. Dental pain affects a child’s ability to learn, sleep, speak, and feel confident. By bringing dental care directly to schools, Covenant helps children stay healthy, present, and ready to learn.

How to Sign Up

Detroit area organizations are encouraged to reach out and learn more about participating in the Mobile Dental program at your school or site.

What If Further Dental Care Is Needed?

If advanced or follow-up dental care is required, patients are referred to one of Covenant Community Care’s full-service family dental clinics, located at:

• Moross  (20901 Moross Rd, Detroit, MI 48236)
• Joy Road  (17625 Joy Rd, Detroit, MI 48228)

Community-based patients may schedule appointments directly through the mobile dental program or by contacting the dental clinic of their choice. 

Lyft transportation is available at no cost for qualifying patients.
